The Governor of Florida is the head of the executive branch of the state government of Florida and the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces.

Military governorEdit

After the United States acquired Spanish Florida in 1821, future-President of the United States Andrew Jackson was appointed by President James Monroe to serve as Military Governor of Florida. Jackson was the only person to hold this office.
